LIMA

Since its creation, Lima has always strived to offer healthy, plant-based food for everyone, for the well-being of each person and the planet. The result is a range of certified organic and 100% Vegan food of the highest quality. The ingredients are used in their pure state, without any additives or preservatives. Finally, the packaging is naturally in line with the same aim of having a lower impact on the environment.

Lima was born in 1957, at a time when most people still considered organic as something that did not concern them. The Gevaert family befriended the Japanese Georges Ohsawa, founder of macrobiotics, and Pierre went deeper into the field of healthy food.

Georges Ohsawa taught him the art of nutrition inspired by the precepts of Yin and Yang. Because a healthy and balanced diet stimulates the harmony of body and mind, and contributes to feeling better. Pierre was therefore keen to share his new vision of food with as many people as possible. This is how the Lima company was born, as a tribute to Georges' wife, Lima Ohsawa.

During its first years of activity, Lima launched on the market condiments from Japanese and world cuisine, such as gomasio, tamari, miso and tahini, but also healthy alternatives to everyday products, such as sourdough, rice cakes,...

Lima's assortment has been gradually enriched with products that are as diverse as they are innovative, always coming from Japan and the rest of the world. One of the common denominators of Lima's products is that they are all prepared with the utmost respect for nature and the environment.
