My natural and ethical face beauty routine!

How can I take care of my skin without filling my shelves with products and without taking risks?

Over the years, your skin's needs change. It requires an adaptation of the skin care rituals.

What facial care ritual should I adopt for my skin and when? How can I prevent the effects of ageing, loss of firmness, the appearance of fine wrinkles and dryness while remaining sober in my choice of products? I am a fan of zero waste and slow cosmetics, is it possible to take care of my skin without breaking my commitments and without taking risks?

What simple routine should I adopt to take care of my face and enhance its radiance?

Like every part of your body, your face likes to be clean, moisturised and in great shape.  No matter how quickly wrinkles, tightness, dark circles and blemishes appear on your face, it's important to take care of yourself for you!

The actions to be taken should not be a constraint, cost you the earth, or take up too much of your time, with the risk of being quickly abandoned.

The 5 simple steps to a glowing complexion are: cleanse, moisturise, condition, exfoliate and apply a mask

3 daily actions

1. Cleanse with soap, lotion or make-up remover every morning and evening

2. If your skin is dehydrated, it is necessary to apply a skin care lotion or floral water to soothe and moisturise the skin

3. Apply a skin care product in the morning and evening, the night cream has the advantage of stimulating cell renewal

2 weekly actions

4. Prepare your skin to receive its care with an exfoliator once a week

5. Apply a mask after your scrub once a week

How can I prevent the effects of ageing, loss of firmness, the appearance of fine lines and dryness, while remaining sober in my choice of cosmetic products?

A zero-waste beauty routine that combines efficiency and comfort requires trial and error. But when you think about it, these are exactly the same steps as for the multitude of products with disposable packaging accumulated in the bathroom cupboard.  How many creams, masks, make-up removers have we tried and failed to use?

The desire to reduce waste is not always enough to persevere in using one dedicated cosmetic product with little packaging. That's why it's important to be convinced that this is the right product for your skin to remove make-up, cleanse or moisturise your skin, that it's easy to apply and that it produces little waste.

It is important to decide to replace your product only when it is empty or out of stock. Once you are satisfied that this new method of removing make-up is right for you, don't look for anything else.

We know that the best way to set up a ritual that works and lasts is to proceed step by step, give your skin time to get used to it and your gestures to get used to the new gentle methods of slow cosmetics. For example, start by replacing your multiple "ways" of removing make-up with a single lotion in a glass container or try a simple, fragrance-free soap bought in bulk or a single solid make-up remover.

It is possible to introduce an extra dimension to your beauty ritual, an ethical and local dimension. Facials are designed and created near you, so ask around, the kilometres covered by your care products count, as do the origin of the materials used and the manufacturing techniques.

As you can see, sobriety in the choice of your care products is a topical issue and a necessity, and there are plenty of solutions available.

What if designing your own cosmetics was the answer?

Making your own cosmetics can be very rewarding and economical.  However, the cost and packaging of the separate ingredients, the quantity and storage of these ingredients sometimes makes the result much less zero waste and economical than one would think and can lead to a discouragement to persevere with natural cosmetics.

Many brands are now opting for glass or plant-based plastic containers (in this regard, please read the very detailed blog on this subject : "
Bioplastics: better understanding what it means), others choose to offer their products in large quantities or with a refill option and many brands offer zero waste solid versions.

Here are some solutions to help you take the plunge towards a facial care routine that respects your skin, your budget, your comfort and the environment...
