Fully secure payments

KissPlanet uses specialised and regulated partners to process payments. KissPlanet does not store any confidential information about your payment methods, such as card numbers or passwords. Only the providers do so in their secure infrastructure. In addition, all data concerning your payment methods is encrypted and is never visible to KissPlanet.

To offer you a wide choice of payment methods, KissPlanet uses four specialised providers: Stripe, Payzen, Mollie et Paypal. All four have been selected for their ease of use. Stripe, our recommended supplier, has taken very concrete measures to protect the environment and reduce its environmental footprint, which is also fully offset.

All four operate in Europe either directly (Payzen, Mollie) or through European subsidiaries (Stripe and Paypal). What they have in common is that they all comply with the European Data Protection Regulation, the GDPR.

STRIPE

Stripe is a technology company that develops a specialised infrastructure for Internet payments. Stripe is headquartered in San Francisco and has offices in Dublin, London, Paris, Singapore and Tokyo.

Stripe is PCI-DSS certified, a global standard that assesses the measures taken to ensure the security of financial transactions. Stripe is developing highly advanced fraud detection systems and will comply with the new EU requirements for the identification of persons conducting electronic transactions on the Internet, which will come into force in September 2019.

Although Stripe does not produce a physical product (their API powers the online commerce of millions of businesses around the world), their operations still contribute to global climate change. So they decided to take action by measuring their greenhouse gas footprint and buying enough carbon credits to achieve net zero emissions. The GHG Protocol standard assesses greenhouse gas emissions on three dimensions. Stripe estimated the three dimensions of emissions in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (TCO2E) to determine the magnitude of their impact.

Stripe purchased offsets on a 1:1 basis from a US landfill. This project operates a gas collection and destruction system to capture and burn methane, a by-product of decomposing waste. With these offsets, the landfill can voluntarily run the collection system - an expensive undertaking they might not have been willing or able to fund on their own - preventing thousands of tonnes of methane from reaching the atmosphere. Since methane has more than 20 times the global warming potential of carbon dioxide, and since burning methane produces only CO2 and water, the net result is actually favourable.

PAYZEN

Like Stripe, PayZen is neither a bank nor a payment method. PayZen is a payment platform that allows KissPlanet to secure your purchase and transfer the payment order from your bank to ours.

PayZen is a supplier of means of payment, belonging to the IT company Lyra located in Labège, France. It is this company that has been chosen by Edenred to manage their electronic payment methods, including EcoChèques.

Edenred payment pages (provided by PayZen) use the TLS protocol (encryption of all card-related information) and are subject to numerous approvals (PCI DSS certification, CB Cartes Bancaires approval, Visa merchant agent approval, etc.).

MOLLIE

Mollie is a very secure payment processing company. The mere fact that the company is listed in the Dutch Central Bank's register of payment institutions means that it is constantly supervised and provides extra security. In addition to this protection, Mollie is certified to the PCI-DSS standard. This means that bank data is encrypted. Selected by Monizze and Sodexo, this is the fastest growing payment platform in Europe.

PAYPAL

PayPal allows a business or user with an email address to send and receive payments online in a convenient, secure and inexpensive way. Their network builds on the existing financial infrastructure of bank accounts and cards to create a real-time global payment solution.

PayPal (Europe) S.à rl & Co, SCA is a credit institution authorised in Luxembourg and is subject to the supervision of the Luxembourg financial sector supervisory authority, the Commission de surveillance du secteur financier. PayPal Inc (parent company of PayPal (Europe) S.àr.l. & Cie, S.C.A) is located in California, USA.
