Buying your pasta in bulk helps reduce your waste, especially if you love pasta like I do! To store your pasta, you need glass containers.
Glass jars for your closet
Who never had a half-opened package of pasta spill into the cupboard because it's not closed properly? If you choose to store your pasta in jars, this will never happen again! In addition, since these containers are transparent, it's very easy to find the type of pasta you want.
Then, simply continue to buy your pasta in bulk and fill the jar dedicated to this type of pasta (noodles, spaghetti, tagliatelle, coquillettes, tricolors,...). Remember to write down the cooking time on the jar, this allows you to mix certain types of pasta with the same cooking time to finish the jars and renew with another type of pasta.
Which material to choose for your jars?
As you may have already understood, I recommend glass jars. They are ecological, economical, easily washable and good for your health!
Plastic jars should be avoided because of the risk of BPA contamination. If you still want to use plastic containers, opt for those for food use without toxic substances.

What size to choose for your glass jars ?
Depending on the type of pasta you eat, different types of jars will be needed.
For spaghetti, glass jars of 1.9-2 L (with a height of 30cm) are perfect. With this kind of jars, you can store 1kg of pasta.
For other, smaller pasta such as macaroni, get 1.4L glass jars to store 600g of pasta. For 1kg, you will need a 1.8L jar.
Spiral pasta requires a 1.8L jar for 750g of pasta.
It is possible to reuse jam jars that you buy in the store for example, but pasta is quite bulky, so you won't be able to put much in them. You can still save them and put some coquillettes, Greek pasta or other bulk foods like lentils, rice, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, etc.
In conclusion...
Glass jars are the way to go for your pasta in bulk !
