Ephemeral art: How to make a nativity scene to eat?

A tasty DIY nativity scene with organic biscuits and chocolates without disposable packaging

An ephemeral nativity scene made of biscuits to be made together

All it takes is a little imagination, good products without single-use packaging and a little time to share with the family to create ephemeral art.

Ingredients

  • 250g marzipan

  • 3 chocolate bars of your choice

  • 250g cane sugar or impalpable sugar

  • 100g marshmallows

  • 250g sesame and dark chocolate fingers

  • 1 lemon

Material

  • 1 plate

  • 1 knife

  • 1 lemon squeezer

  • 1 rolling pin or glass bottle

  • 1 mixer to reduce the cane sugar to powder

  • 1 spoon

It's up to you, here is the recipe for the crèche in biscuits and chocolates

  • Set aside 40g of marzipan and roll the rest into a thin dough and place it in the dish

  • Squeeze the lemon

  • Grind the sugar to obtain a flour sugar

  • Cut 1 slab of chocolate in half and the other 2/3 - 1/3

  • Gradually mix the lemon juice with half the sugar until you have a paste (glue)

  • Assemble the walls by gluing them to the marzipan sheet with the lemon/sugar mixture:

    • 1 large chocolate plate for the back wall

    • 1/2 chocolate plate for the right wall and 1/2 for the left wall

    • 2/3 of a slab of chocolate placed off-centre in the cot

    • Allow the "glue" to dry for a few minutes before sticking the fingers alternately on the chocolate walls

  • Stick a few marshmallows as a cushion in the centre of the nativity scene and others wherever you like

  • Shape the baby Jesus with the remaining marzipan: 1/3 for the head, 2/3 for the body and place it on the cushion

  • Cut the remaining fingers and plant them around the cot as a barrier

  • Sprinkle the remaining sugar on the cot

  • Enjoy your achievement! And share your photos on Instagram and Facebook, thanks
